I have always enjoyed this artists interviews so I knew I would love her book and her class. I was not wrong. She is easy to follow and I love her presentations. I plan to get more of her classes in the future. I started with this class because I'm going through her book for tour de fleece this year and I wanted to be able to organize my spinning the way she does. It just makes sense to my mind. I'm very happy with my purchase. I will recommend this class to others. I can't wait to take more of her classes.
Hi Heather, I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the class and would love to hear how you're progressing as you try to create the perfect inspirational space. If you're doing Tour de Fleece, you're most welcome to join me and fellow color loving fiber artists in my Facebook group "Spin, Dye, and Create with Alanna Wilcox". We are a laid back bunch who support one another in completing projects that would otherwise be relegated to a forever WIP. There will be prizes too :) If you would like to be notified when new live and on-demand workshops are available, you can sign up for my newsletter on my website at alannawilcox.com Thank you again for your kind words and happy spinning! - Alanna
Great system. These videos could probably all be combined. I had trouble getting the videos to broadcast to my TV maybe because of the embedding (not her fault, obviously) so if y'all want to watch them on your TV, click "save to watch later" then they'll be in your youtube library that's easier to navigate to on your TV.
I had a suspicion I could use CMYK values as a starting point for custom colors and this helped connect some of the dots for me. On my first few attempts I got in the ballpark of where I wanted to be. I do wish there had been just a few more examples of specific complex colors and adjustments made to show the whole process of narrowing in a color. I think one thing to factor in is that in dyes, some blacks are cool and some are warm and that can really pull things in wild directions.
